Reasons why iPhone SE received a lot of criticism from Android users

A few days ago Apple released the iPhone SE. Well, it was the cheapest iPhone to ever come from Apple with a price of only $399. This came as a surprise to many people considering the fact that Apple sell their products at a relatively high price.

We wouldn’t be wrong if we called it the first mid-range phone from Apple. However, a lot of people from the Android world (Apple’s biggest rival) had a lot to say concerning the iPhone SE. Most of the people couldn’t understand why iPhone users would pay $399 to buy a new phone in an “old’s phone” body.

At this point your’e probably wondering what I mean. Let me explain, I know you can’t tell the difference between these two photos down here. The first one (RED) is an iPhone 8 which was Announced in September 2017 and the other picture is the iPhone SE 2020 (BLACK).

There is no appearance difference because the iPhone SE 2020 is just the iPhone 8 with Apple’s latest chip-set, the A13 Bionic (7nm). And of course, the Apple logo in the SE is now in the middle.

The A13 Bionic ( 64-bit ARM-based system on a chip (SoC) ) is arguably one of the best smartphone chip-sets in the world currently. It consists of six CPU cores, with two high-performance cores running at 2.65 GHz (Lightning), four energy-efficient cores running at 1.8 GHz (Thunder) and other high-end features.

A13 Bionic appears in the iPhone 11,11 pro/pro max and now the iPhone SE (second generation).

Considering that Apple is one of the most innovative companies in the world, it’d only be fair if they put more work in the iPhone SE. In 2020, there is a lot of competition in the smartphone world.

Most smartphones have high-end specs and designs. The iPhone SE has an old body/design with a huge chin and bezzles. We can’t also forget it only has a 4.7 inch display (Retina IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors). A resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels, 16:9 ratio (~326 ppi density), 1821 mAh battery and 3GB of RAM.

Single 12 MP camera, f/1.8 (wide), PDAF, OIS. (features
Dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR)

Selfie single 7 MP camera, f/2.2 (features
Face detection, HDR, panorama)

The main camera shoots 4K videos @24/30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, HDR, OIS, stereo sound rec. The Selfie camera shoots 1080p videos @30fps; gyro-EIS

At $399,there are plenty of Android devices to choose from. You’ll get good phone designs with triple and quad camera set-ups(48MP,64MP) (even 5 camera set-ups in some cases).

6 inch displays (including AMOLED dispalys),huge 3000-4500 mAH batteries and very improved mid-range chip-sets like the Snapdragon 765 from Qualcomm. So Apple selling the iPhone SE at a starting price of $399 sounds like a joke to many Android users.
