Last year the US President signed an executive order that led to the ban of Tiktok and WeChat. According to analysis Titok had around 100 million active users in a month.
In May 2019, the US president announced that Huawei along other Chinese companies would no longer conduct business with US companies. Huawei ended up being placed under The entity list.
Fast forward to 2021 US is expected to announce the ban of several other Chinese apps. These include;

- Alipay
- Tencent QQ
- VMate
Last year India also announced the ban of Tiktok and WeChat among other Chinese apps. They include;

(In 2020 India banned over 200 Chinese apps.)
Whether these apps access our private data or not, it is always advisable to double-check any app before installing and running it on your phone.
It is also advisable to download apps from Google PlayStore for Android users or App Store for iPhone users. Installing apps from unknown websites may cause problems to your phone.
